Kirkintilloch Golf Club

Kirkintilloch Golf Club: Procedures for Re-opening

Dear members and friends,

Following the announcement last week that golf will be permitted to return from Friday 29th May, I’m please to outline our procedures and processes for a safe return to playing at Kirkintilloch.

Tee Booking:

Until further notice, tee-sheet booking will be available two days beforehand from 10am through BRS (For example, play on Friday will be bookable from 10am this Wednesday).

Each member can book a maximum of 1-tee time per day. Please ensure all players are listed in the tee-time for contact tracing purposes.

The maximum number of players in a tee-time will be 3-ball initially, however players cannot be from any more than two separate households. In practice we expect that most bookings will be 2-balls.

Tee-times will be available from 07:30am with the last tee-time available for booking 1-hour before sunset. ALL PLAYERS MUST HAVE A TEE TIME BOOKED AND CANNOT ARRIVE SPECULATIVELY

Equipment Retrieval:

In line with Scottish Golf guidelines, clubhouses will remain closed (including toilet facilities) until further notice. As such, any member wishing to retrieve equipment has two options:

Option 1: Retrieval from the locker room/trolley store shortly before your booked tee-time this Friday/Saturday (29th/30th May), at times when the clubhouse is scheduled to be open

Option 2: By booking a time to retrieve your equipment across Friday/Saturday (29th/30th May) through the following link:

Please enter your name against an available time slot and arrive at the club at that time.

To allow for the possibility of future contact tracing, we must keep a record of access to and from the clubhouse at this time and members’ assistance in complying with these options would be much appreciated.

The clubhouse will be open from 07:15 until 17:00 on Friday and from 09:00 until 17:00 on Saturday. As an example, a member booked to play at 07:30 on Saturday morning must book a slot to retrieve their equipment on Friday, as access to the locker at that time on Saturday morning will not be available. However, a member booked to play at 09:30 on Saturday morning can arrive and retrieve equipment before play without needing to book their name through the link provided in option 2.

In line with Scottish Government lockdown advice, no collection of equipment will be permitted until Friday. Social distancing measures should always be maintained during retrieval.

Any member who does not retrieve their equipment across this Friday and Saturday will need to contact me at to arrange a date/time – this should only be by exception and all members should try and retrieve equipment across the two options outlined above.

No equipment should be stored at the club after it has been retrieved until further notice.

Revised “Guide to Golf During Covid-19”

In line with the revised guidance issued by Scottish Golf and the Government, the latest are availble at this link ( Please read this in full as the guidelines are crucial to allowing us to safely reopen this week.

I am confident that all members will strictly adhere to these guidelines and will ensure that we operate safely as a club once reopen. Any member who has concerns with any behaviour witnessed on or around the club can report this to me in confidence at Following these procedures will minimise the risk that access to golf courses is removed again in future – something I am sure we would all like to avoid.

As ever, if any members have any questions, please do get in touch. Just to advise, I am picking up all voicemail’s left at the club phone number (01417761256) and will return any calls missed if you leave the appropriate details.

I look forward to finally playing some golf this weekend and sharing the course with you all.

Yours in Golf,

Simon Boyle

Secretary (Interim)
