Welcome To Kirkintilloch Golf Club

An 18 hole par 70 golf course on the outskirts of Glasgow, originally laid out in 1895 by legendary golf course architect James Braid.

Sitting amongst a rolling layout with spectacular views of the Campsie Fells and Clyde Valley as backdrops, our golf course and clubhouse is ideally situated within easy reach of Glasgow and located within the burgh of Kirkintilloch, often referred to as the ‘Canal Capital of Scotland’.  We believe our golf course to be a great test of golf and is regarded by many as having the finest greens in the county.

Our clubhouse comprises of a large lounge which is ideal for private functions, whilst our smaller dining room serves regular lunches and dinners for those special occasions such as Valentine's Day, Burns Night etc.  Our well stocked bar and consistently great food is complemented by Sky TV and major sporting events shown on the big screen in the lounge.

Our Professional Shop Team is managed by our resident PGA Professional Graeme Fisher, and they are always available for all your golfing needs with a fantastic array of golf equipment, clothing and custom fitting.  Graeme also provides a teaching service via both outdoor and now indoor via our fantastic "Urban Gowf" golf simulator where you can play some of the top courses in the world.  Outdoor practice facilities comprise of 3 driving bays, putting green both of which are directly adjacent to the clubhouse.  In addition to this, our full size practice area (adjacent to the 16th hole) has driving mats, distance targets, full size green and bunker to help you improve your game.

Rest assured, you will always be assured of a warm welcome to make sure you enjoy your time with us. We look forward to welcoming you, you've earned it, and we are convinced you will enjoy your time at our club!  If you would like to join us for a round then simply clicking the relevant "Visitors Online Tee Booking" image below or calling us on 0141 776 1256.   We also welcome new members at any time and we have varied joining offers available throughout the year, just get in touch with the Club Secretary via the contact page for details.

COVID19 - Captain's Update - 01.04.2020

Dear Members,

Kirkintilloch has a motto - Ca,canny but Ca,awa was translated as Progress in vigilance when adopted by Strathkelvin District Council in 1975.

If you are like me, you will already be yearning for lush fairways and the open expanses of our Golf Course. I hope and trust many of the photographs you see on Facebook of the ongoing essential course maintenance will have brought a smile to you. I hope your time so far in isolation has been bearable and that you have found productive ways to pass your time. For those key workers in our ranks and wider community - I salute your bravery and perseverance. As people say - not all superheroes wear capes.

As I highlighted last week, the Business Council has been meeting regularly on a virtual basis to manage our club through these difficulties and we have already taken some action aimed at protecting our staff, the course and persevering with the financial well-being of our club. Further communications can be expected as and when we have further information to share.

Kirkintilloch Golf Club is a members club first and foremost, it is your club, during this unprecedented crisis the Business Council will do everything where possible to help, support and retain our members. The patience, support and loyalty of our members has never been more important in our 125 year history.

As always we persevere in hope - stay home, protect the NHS to save lives & STAY SAFE.

Yours in Golf

Jim MacNab

Club Captain 2020

Members will no doubt be aware of the new movement restrictions now in place by the government. The Business Council has therefore taken the decision to CLOSE THE CLUBHOUSE AND COURSE WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT until further notice.

As we all get used to the latest restrictions, the Business Council continues to review the situation and this evening held its first virtual meeting to be updated on actions taken and to be taken as we navigate through this. Unfortunately the timing of the announcement yesterday and the speed with which the restrictions were enforced made it impossible for us to allow members to remove personal items from the clubhouse and we apologise for the inconvenience this may have caused. The clubhouse will remain closed while current restrictions are in place. Taking advice from the national body, Scottish Golf, who have been in discussion with government authorities, we have established that greens staff will be allowed to carry out essential maintenance and our staff will commence this programme immediately to ensure that the course is ready when we get the all clear. This will be done keeping the well-being of our staff in mind at all times. Staff will also ensure that the clubhouse is secure. We do wish to make a plea to any member who has still to pay their annual subscription to do this as soon as possible. It is imperative to the health of the golf club that we retain all of our members and complete the subscription process in a timely manner. We will be contacting you in the coming days to advise how payments can be made at the present time.

Meantime we ask everyone to stay safe and look after yourselves.
