Welcome to Kirkintilloch Golf Club The "Family club" Since 1895

Kirkintilloch Golf Club is a picturesque 18 hole course, originally laid out by the legendary James Braid in 1895. It sits among a rolling layout with spectacular views of the Campsie Fells, within easy reach of Glasgow and is the home course of Kirkintilloch, often referred to as the ‘canal capital of Scotland’. It is a great test of golf and is regarded by many as having the finest greens in the county.

Facilities include a large practice ground, putting and chipping green adjacent to the clubhouse and a 3-bay netted warm up area for those who desire a pre round routine.  You will always be assured of a warm welcome to make sure you enjoy your time with us. After your game you are welcome to relax in our lounge where a large selection of drinks and bar food is available.

Ready Golf Has Arrived At Kirkintilloch Golf Club

Last season at KGC we introduced the concept of "Ready Golf" as per guidance from the R&A and USGA.  This was introduced to avoid the dreaded slow play and to try and speed up play on the golf course and thus make our round of golf much more enjoyable.  As we now start our new season we now formally introduce this, so below is a reminder of the "Ready Golf" elements to help us all enjoy our well-earned round of golf.

  • Be ready to play and play as soon as it is safe to do so (taking into account the game in front and those playing on other holes)
  • First player on the tee may go first (there is no need to wait for the "honour")
  • Let the shorter hitters tee off first (taking into account they won't be able to reach anyone on the fairway ahead)
  • Hit your ball before helping search for one of your playing partners (thus saving time going back and forth between the lost ball and your ball and then finally hitting your ball)
  • Putt when you are ready (this will help speed up play on the greens and help those behind you.  Further golf rule changes coming in will also allow you to putt with the pin in)
  • Mark your card on the next tee (don't waste time marking it when you are still on or near the green)

You may think that these tips hardly speed up play but when you put them into play over 18 holes they all add up.  With golfers showing more awareness, a fourball could speed up their round by 5 minutes per hole, which in turn equates to 90 minutes saved per round!  More details can be found here.

Golf Rules Changes

The biggest changes in the Rules Of Golf in decades are coming, are you ready for them?  These changes range from revised rules in bunkers, how to drop a ball, stroke and distance rule changes, time permitted to look for a ball and more.  Please click here for more details.

Mobile Tee Time Booking

We are pleased to announce that the BRS tee-booking system currently in use for Kirkintilloch Golf Club members is now available as a mobile version.  The application is downloadable from the Apple Store (IOS devices) or Google Play Store (Android devices).  Simply download the mobile application from your relevant store, search for Kirkintilloch Golf Club and then login as you would when using the website using your unique BRS number and your password.  You can then reserve your tee-time on the move!
