Welcome to Kirkintilloch Golf Club The "Family club" Since 1895

Kirkintilloch Golf Club is a picturesque 18 hole course, originally laid out by the legendary James Braid in 1895. It sits among a rolling layout with spectacular views of the Campsie Fells, within easy reach of Glasgow and is the home course of Kirkintilloch, often referred to as the ‘canal capital of Scotland’. It is a great test of golf and is regarded by many as having the finest greens in the county.

Facilities include a large practice ground, putting and chipping green adjacent to the clubhouse and a 3-bay netted warm up area for those who desire a pre round routine.  You will always be assured of a warm welcome to make sure you enjoy your time with us. After your game you are welcome to relax in our lounge where a large selection of drinks and bar food is available.

Visitor tee-time bookings can be made by simply clicking the middle image below or calling us on 0141 776 1256.  We look forward to welcoming you, we are sure you will enjoy it!

Winter Competitions

We have been reviewing our programme to maintain some element of competitive golf throughout the winter off season. As winter golf presents practical challenges with conditions and weather, this is intended to encourage friendly competition, played in good spirits throughout the off season. Handicap changes made throughout Winter do not affect your regular competition handicap and are for the purposes of the Winter format only. As such, we are planning on running the following:

Every Sat/Sun there will be a sweepstake administered by Graeme for the best score over that weekend.

  • There will be a “winter-long” league competition running in conjunction with the weekend sweepstakes, where the best 4 stableford scores will count towards your points total in the league.
  • First Winter League Sweepstake: 20th/21st October, Finishing 2nd/3rd March
  • £5 entry to play in the winter league, which will be allocated to prizes
  • A Winter League Finals Day will be played on March 16th, as a 5th and final counting round. This will include “joker” holes, where double/triple points may be available, allowing all participants the chance to compete through to the end of the competition
  • Starting handicap is ¾ of your current playing handicap. Winter “CSS” will be 37 points. Players scoring 38/39 points will reduce their winter playing handicap by 1 stoke, 40/41 points by 2 strokes, 42/43 points by 3 strokes and so on.
  • If the number of holes in play is reduced, the CSS etc.. will reduce by the pro-rata amount of the holes in play.
  • Players may participate in the weekend sweepstakes separately to the Winter League, although I would encourage you to participate if possible.

In addition to the Winter League, we will be re-instating our Canada Cup Betterball competition.

  • The format betterball matchplay in an initial group stage, consisting of a minimum number of matchplay games, followed by progression to a final stage.
  • Full details of group and knockout format will be published once the number of entrants has been confirmed, with the intention to ensure each team plays 5/6 matches through the league section.
  • Handicap allowance will be half the difference from the lowest player in the group (based on standard competition handicap).
  • This competition is open to junior members playing alongside a senior member (Handicap limit of 28 applies).
  • Entry fee of £5 per team of two, which will be allocated to prizes.
  • To enter, please add your names to the sheet on the notice board in the locker room or email by Sunday 14th October, with the draw published by Wednesday 17th October.
  • Players are asked to commit to participating and ensuring they play their minimum number of games through the group sections to be fair to all participants.
