An 18 hole par 70 golf course located on the outskirts of Glasgow and originally laid out in 1895 by legendary golf course architect James Braid.

About Us

Sitting amongst a rolling layout with spectacular views of the Campsie Fells and Clyde Valley as backdrops, our golf course and clubhouse is ideally situated within easy reach of Glasgow and located within the burgh of Kirkintilloch, often referred to as the ‘Canal Capital of Scotland’.  We believe our golf course to be a great test of golf and is regarded by many as having the finest greens in the county.

Our clubhouse comprises of a large lounge which is ideal for private functions, whilst our smaller dining room serves regular lunches and dinners for those special occasions such as Valentine's Day, Burns Night etc.  Our well stocked bar and consistently great food is complemented by both Sky TV and BT TV that allows us to screen all the big sporting events.

Our Professional Shop Team is managed by our resident PGA Professional Graeme Fisher, and they are always available for all your golfing needs with a fantastic array of golf equipment and attire.

Our outdoor practice facilities comprise of 3 driving bays, putting green both of which are directly adjacent to the clubhouse.  Our full size practice area is near the 16th hole with targets, driving mats, full size green and bunker.

Rest assured, you will always be assured of a warm welcome to make sure you enjoy your time with us. We look forward to welcoming you, you've earned it, and we are convinced you will enjoy your time at our club!

Friday Night League Commences 03.05.19

Our Friday Night 9-Hole League starts this coming Friday May 3rd. Many of you have been asking about the details on the format, so here's all the information about the competition you'll need:

  • Competition will be played every Friday night from May through to the end of August over the 9 hole course comprised holes 1-4 then 14-18.
  • As this is a designed to be a informal and social competition, competitors can take part where they have already played or practiced on the course earlier in the day (unlike normal strokeplay where no play on the course is allowed prior to the competition). Any player wishing to enter a supplementary score for handicap should be playing the course for the first time that day.
  • The 9-hole competition must be played consecutively i..e players cannot submit a 9-hole score whilst playing an 18 hole round as this would constitute practice on the course during the competition round itself.
  • Players can only play once for the purposes of the competition on a given evening.
  • It is a mixed competition open to gents, ladies and juniors.  Gents will play from white tees, ladies from red tees.
  • It is a non-qualifying competition for handicap purposes, although you do have the option to declare it as a supplementary score for handicap purposes (if handicap is greater than 2.5)
  • The handicap formula for 9 hole play is relatively complicated, however the computer has been set up to accommodate this for both men and ladies...simply sign in before your round, then enter your scores afterwards and the computer will do the rest (famous last words!)
  • Sign in will be available from 3pm and scores can be entered late into the evening to accommodate the light nights through the height of the summer
  • For the 9 hole competition, we will operate a "merge-in-turn" system at the 14th tee, with anyone playing a full round. Whichever group finishes playing out the 4th or 13th respectively will go next off the 14th tee. I don't expect there to be a huge backlog here, but we will monitor this accordingly.
  • Entry to play in the League is £5 (free entry for juniors but with no cash prizes awarded!), which will contribute towards prizes at the end of the competition. Please pay this into the shop when first playing. If the shop is closed, please pay at the next convenience.
  • Each week, the top 5 nett stableford scores will be awarded league points as follows: 1st - 10 points, 2nd - 7 points, 3rd - 5 points, 4th - 3 points, 5th - 1 points. Ties on a given night will be determined by better inward 6 holes/3holes/1hole. In the event of a dead heat, each player will be allocated the relevant points.
  • The scoring format will be an aggregate of the best 4 stableford scores across the league duration (similar to that of the recent Winter League Competition). Ties will be decided by the best score. This should encourage participation throughout the duration of the competition.

Please drop Simon an email if you have any queries (match@kirkintillochgolfclub.co.uk) and good luck to all those taking part.
