Welcome to Kirkintilloch GC - The Family Club Since 1895

Our James Braid designed par 70 course and golf club was born in 1895 and is located to the north east of Glasgow in the town of Kirkintilloch. One of the main reasons we receive so many visitors each year to our club is that our course is one of the finest parkland courses in the area. Our "History" page on this website charts a wonderful historical account of our Club's birth and its growth.  You will always receive a warm welcome at our golf club. On arrival you will receive a friendly welcome from our resident PGA Advanced Professional, Colin Fairweather. We also offer extensive practice facilties and a full bar and catering service. For visitors wishing to book a single round or perhaps those wanting a golf society outing, please contact Colin in the first instance.

Captain's Welcome

As Captain of Kirkintilloch Golf Club for season 2017-2018 I would like to extend to you a very warm welcome to our club, fabulous golf course and of course our online presence.

I am extremely proud and delighted to represent the Golf Club for the third year in succession.  Although the job of Club Captain feels like a full-time job, and often very hard work in these difficult times for many golf clubs, it is none the less rewarding.  Along with my Vice-Captain Malcolm Campbell and the rest of the Club's Business Council, our Advanced PGA Professional Colin Fairweather and Jacqui our Catering Manager we look forward to welcoming you to our club.

We pride ourselves in being a friendly, family club and over the past 120 years many generations of the same families have enjoyed (and still enjoy) their game of golf and socialising at the Club.  We know many serious and not so serious golfers have a choice in and around the local area. Please give our course a try and see what you think, we are convinced you will enjoy the experience!  Our golf course is always in excellent condition and I am sure you will enjoy the challenges set before you.  Please also join us for a drink or a bite to eat after your round.  More often than not I am in the clubhouse so please don't hesitate to stop me for a chat if there's anything you would like to discuss.

Yours in Golf

Hazel Cunningham

Members Information Meeting (Autumn)

Our annual Autumn members information evening will be held on Thursday 21st September at 7:30pm. The Business Council will update members on club matters and future plans. All members are welcome to attend.

Course Etiquette and Maintenance

PLEASE LOOK AFTER OUR COURSE...In order to maintain the high standards at our golf course, and as a courtesy to other members and visitors, please remember to replace divots, rake bunkers properly and repair at least one pitch mark on the greens as we all want greens in excellent condition. Broken tees should also be put in the white vessels now provided on each tee.  FInally, please keep trolleys away from teeing areas and particularly around the greens.

Ready Golf

You may have heard of the new term in golf "Ready Golf".  This is being introduced by the golfing authorities and many golf clubs to help speed up play on the course, and we have now introduced this at our club.

We would therefore ask you to observe the general etiquette of the game and stand aside if you have lost your position on the course and are holding up the game behind.  The basic principle of Ready Golf is being prepared to play your next shot only when safe to do so and not to wait while someone gets themselves ready or is out of position e.g. beyond the green.  Whilst we implement "Ready Golf" at our club, please refer to notices around the clubhouse or click here for more information.  Improving the pace of play will only enhance our overall golf experience both on and off the course.

Hole By Hole Flyovers

If you are thinking of playing the course then we urge you to check out our fantastic new feature i.e. A Hole By Hole Flyover that will let you see the layout and features of each hole on the course.  Simply click here to see them and when each holes image is presented to you, just press the play button to commence the flyover, it will certainly help you plan your round!
