Our James Braid designed par 70 course and golf club was born in 1895 and is located to the north east of Glasgow in the town of Kirkintilloch. One of the main reasons we receive so many visitors each year to our club is that our course is one of the finest parkland courses in the area. Our "History" page on this website charts a wonderful historical account of our Club's birth and its growth. You will always receive a warm welcome at our golf club. On arrival you will receive a friendly welcome from our resident PGA Advanced Professional, Colin Fairweather. We also offer extensive practice facilties and a full bar and catering service. For visitors wishing to book a single round or perhaps those wanting a golf society outing, please contact Colin in the first instance.
The wonderful scenery with the Campsie Hills as a backdrop to the rolling parkland course makes our 5860 yards, 18 hole par 70 (css 69) course provides a wonderful experience. The course itself provides an enjoyable walk with no major hills to be negotiated, no long walks between tees and an excellent course layout with fantastic views along the Kelvin valley.
For the benefit of visitors please feel free to download our card of the course below (note - this is a large file) or check out the hole-by-hole flyovers here.
Some members have enquired about the work being carried out to the 15th hole and particularly why is this work being undertaken. This particular piece of work is part of our longer term golf course management plan that is designed to enhance and develop the course; improve the playability and challenge for all handicap levels; improve course maintenance; make bunkers fairer and more consistent and critically, improve the overall standard of the course. By comparison, the benefits this type of maintenance can be demonstrated by the improvements to the 2nd hole that our own greenkeeping staff undertook in the last couple of years.
Our greenkeeping staff are undertaking bunker renovations to the 15th hole and also maintenance work on bunkers at the 14th. Whilst this work is ongoing, the 15th hole will be out of play and will be replaced by a hole on the practice green and fairway adjacent to the 16th tee and fairway. For further information an artists impression of the changes to the 15th hole is attached below.
